Vision and sustainability

Based on the aspiration to develop Fort Halstead in accordance with local needs and ambitions, Hines have organised meetings, workshops and / or discussions with local representatives and officials from Sevenoaks District Council, Parish Councils neighbouring Fort Halstead, Kent County Council, the Government Office for the South East, the London Borough of Bromley and operators of education, housing, eldercare and public transport services.

The richness of opinion on local issues, needs and opportunities led to the formulation of our vision statement.

Fort Halstead will have accommodation for a mixture of uses – leisure, ecology, education, housing and employment space – of which the latter two will range in size and price. This will facilitate a community of all ages and incomes that meets the aspirations of modern lifestyles whilst embracing and harnessing the distinctive setting, history and tradition and offering a leading response to the growing need to meet the sustainable agenda – economically, socially and environmentally.
