Fort Halstead Consultation Days - April and May

After numerous discussions with Sevenoaks District Council, local Parish Councils, as well as other authorities and organisations to help build a vision for the development, Hines will hold three consultation days in April and May for people from Halstead, Knockholt, Shoreham, Badgers Mount, Otford, Dunton Green, Riverhead and Chevening.

We are now beginning to formulate our proposals, and while these are still at a preliminary and fluid stage, we are inviting local people to contribute their ideas.

On each of these days, there will be an exhibition describing the site and our approach, and Simon O’Donnell, Project Director, will give a presentation following which you will have the opportunity to meet with him, ask questions and share your comments and ideas with both Simon and members of the professional team. We will be present all day. Refreshments will be served.

Timetable for each Saturday:

  • The Exhibition will be held at Fort Halstead, in the restaurant building by the main security gate. It will be open from 10.00am till 4.00pm.
  • The Presentation will commence at 11.15am and last for 30 minutes.

If you are disabled and need assistance, then please let Hines know and we will make arrangements for pick up and drop off.

There will also be a Planning Workshop commencing at 12.00 noon. This is an opportunity for people in the area to express, and for Hines to hear, a breadth of interests and ideas. Planning workshops are most effective when the participants represent a spread of local interests and vantage points – young and old, men and women, and people with varied interests and responsibilities, eg. in children’s and youth activity, church activity, sport, arts, etc. We suggest that you speak among yourselves to ensure a good mix of participants. However, no one should feel excluded from applying.

Giving all workshop participants an opportunity for active participation in the session, such workshops necessarily involve a limited number of participants, and with this in mind, we envisage that 24 people will be optimal. To help organise the workshop, we are asking people who would like to participate to pre-register. Please telephone 020 7292 1910 with your name, any special interest you may have or represent, your telephone number, and the time of day or evening when it is convenient for you to be called back. Please also give the date and time of your call, so we can accommodate requests in the order that they are made (whilst at the same time achieving a wide range of interests), should the workshop prove to be over-subscribed.

The workshop will last for 3.5 hours, and we ask that everyone who participates also attends the presentation beforehand. We realise that time is precious, but as the workshop will be following a structured programme, please feel confident that you can come for 11.15am and stay for the full duration of the workshop (till 3.30pm) if you put your name forward to participate.

Whether you come to the Exhibition, Presentation and / or the Workshop, we hope that this will be an informative and stimulating day.

I look forward to meeting you.

Yours sincerely
Simon O’Donnell
